Dr Jordan Petersen warns about the negative personality trait changes that likely can be caused to a person's personality from repeatedly engaging in one night stands. Participating repeatedly in certain behaviours can effect feelings and thinking in ways that can alter a person's character.
One night stands are short-term sexual gratification exchanges, as opposed to being long-term relationships. According to Dr Petersen short-term sexual interactions are linked to and practiced by those who are psychopathic, narcissistic, Machiavellian and sadistic and these personality traits can be developed in those who might then go on to behave in more selfish and less empathic and considerate ways.
Dr Petersen makes the statement that, "The definition of a psychopath is someone who uses someone for short-term gratification" and then he asks a very relevant question, "If you practice that for five years, are you not going to become what you practice?"
